Jury Comments:
This project provided a great example of exceeding all of the judging criteria. What was impressive was the level and depth of community involvement to get this project completed. It was amazing to see the collaboration between the youth, program administrators and county leadership coming together to find this solution that is a win-win for all involved.

Congratulations Alameda County! Hat’s off to the Ashland Youth Center for a tremendously successful project.

The People’s Choice Award recipient is selected by the attendees of the Annual County General Services Association Academy. The Academy is a joint presentation of the CGSA and the CCAEA. The selection is made from ALL the submitted projects and demonstrates a project from those submitted, that in the opinion of the attendees best met or exceeded the criteria.

Jury Comments:
This project rated uniformly high across all criteria; excellent example of a project that meets both county and client department requirements. The various components of the project were innovative from use of “flag lot” for transportation to storm water management. Who knew that tilt-up concrete structures can look so attractive!

Congratulations Solano County and project staff that delivered this project to your community!

All projects submitted received a Certificate of Merit for their participation in this First Annual Awards Program. CCAEA appreciates the effort that submissions require and acknowledges the daily work of public service capital improvement staff: architects, engineers, project managers, accountants, building inspectors, support staff and county leadership in delivering projects to California Communities around the state. Here they are by county category.
